Hi I'm Nano Brooks. I was born at Bartlett regional hospital on June 18th 1994. I attended Mendenhall River School, Auke Bay Elementary, Dzantik'i heeni Middle School, graduated JDHS in 2011, obtained trade school training in the sheet metal union local 23 and later completed trade programs for plumbing and HVAC at AVTEC. For 10 years I spent my professional career in mechanical and trade work. From the newest facilities in our communities to some of the oldest homes and not just in Juneau but most of Southeast Alaska. I have a passion for helping people, fixing things, and making systems efficient and sustainable. These passions have drove me into creating new businesses and saving an older business that all provide services to the people of the community. Now I want to offer my experience, energy, passion, and service to all the people of Juneau through municipal representation so we can shape a Juneau that works for all of us!

Many citizens feel that the impact isn't worth the progress and we've seen time and time again the people who have called this place home, no longer can and end up leaving. This trajectory is nothing new but in recent years its ramped up and now we're at the mercy of increased cost of living and tax burden for bonds. This is not the best path for us but thankfully its not the only path.I see Juneau as being perfectly positioned to set an example of affordability, sustainability, and the highest quality of life for the residents. That is always the goal for a municipal governance and service but the methods that we experience through the status quo is a continuance of bond obligations that are more aimed at keeping the tax rate the same rather than itemizing and addressing the specific issue.Juneau needs alternative revenue strategies. Current municipal practices rely on bond financing that keeps tax rates flat but fails to target specific issues. Leveraging under‑used city assets and charter‑authorized provisions (e.g., marine passenger fees, land assets) to generate income that outperforms property taxes.Candidate’s CommitmentPut people first and exhaust every possible solution before asking for more money.
Provide transparent, accountable representation focused on affordability, housing, education, and community health.
Avoid wasteful spending on initiatives that don’t directly benefit these core priorities.
